AICTE Onboarded 205 companies , 9 Lakh students for Digital Skilling programme

Less than a week after launching the Digital Skilling initiative, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has successfully enrolled over 9,000 students to train them in futuristic technologies and connect them to industry segments covering both the virtual  and  the real use space.

Speaking exclusively to Hans India, AICTE  Coordinating Director Mr. Buddha Chandrasekhar said that since the launch of the Digital Skills program, 205 companies have joined   to offer interested candidates internships and/or training opportunities in segments such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain -Technology and similar emerging fields.

Since the launch of the portal, AICTE has also registered around 9.1 lakh students in just the last 6 days. The statutory technical body is now aiming to enroll 1 million students over the next 6 months. According to Mr. Chandrasekhar, the response to the unified platform has been positive from both students and different industries. .

The CCO also noted that they have received requests  from agriculture and law students to add new areas of their respective specialties. dr Sharing his thoughts on the feedback received, Buddha Chandrashekar,  

Coordinating Director of AICTE said: “Digital skills are increasing at an unprecedented rate and students at all levels need this fuel for a long career path.it becomes the order of the day.

I firmly believe that  Nation 2020's education policy will be instrumental in transforming India into a frontline digital economy, producing millions of highly skilled talent. I owe a debt of gratitude to the companies and EdTech that are creating opportunity as part of the Digital Enablement initiative. to empower Rs 1 crore of digital workforce in the next 6 months".

Among the  preferred areas for digital training, AICTE has said that topics such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Internet of Things  (IOT), Automobiles and automobile components, Health Tech, Data Analysis (Analytics, Data Science, Real Time Analytics, Data Architecture) have attracted the greatest attention from interested applicants.On June 6, 2022, AICTE launched a program called Digital Skilling, which aims to train applicants in futuristic technologies.

This includes providing training modules for students and linking them to  internships and training opportunities. AICTE said  they saw maximum participation from students from states such as Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

The portal was launched by the Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan.The portal has also onboarded companies like Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, IDS, IBM, etc. that would train candidates interested in topics like blockchain, artificial intelligence, and other related emerging technologies.
